Learn more about Chapter 8’s fantastic 4-year service life
Giving you the best possible value for money is something we take incredibly seriously at Chapter 8 Shop. We aim to provide the very best quality products that keep you safe on the roads.
This applies to our use of the fluorescent yellow vinyl, which offers a fantastic 4-year service life – much higher than the industry average. We can confidently say that Chapter 8 Shop are the only company to be selling a 4-year life product with our chevron kits.
All other fluorescent yellow vinyl currently on the market has a life span of 3 years – and this refers to how long the yellow stays fluorescent as well as how long it is supposed to last on the vehicle.
The vinyl has a 4-year life span that has been guaranteed by the vinyl supplier and Chapter 8 Shop also offer a 2-year warranty on every chevron. All chevron kits and replacement parts will be warranted, for a period of 24 months from the date of delivery to, or collection by, the customer. You can read more about our chevron warranty to discover exactly what it covers.
The RapidAir® technology enables easy and quick bubble-free application, especially of large-sized chevrons. Trapped air can be easily removed by simply smoothing it out under the film, making the application process easy and quicker than with many other vinyl products.
Showing our commitment to this versatile material, we’ve also teamed up with our sister company Brandfixx to bring the fluorescent yellow vinyl to you with the Brandfixx liner.
Achieving the 4-year service life is easy
To achieve maximum lifespan of your fluorescent yellow vinyl, we recommend following the below guidelines during the application process:
Ensure good ambient temperature
As per manufacturer’s guidelines, we recommend only starting the application process at a temperature of 15C and above. This ensures the best adhesion, prolonging the life of the product and keeping it looking newer for longer.
Make sure your vehicle is clean
Before applying any vinyl, no matter the lifespan, it’s important to make sure the vehicle is clean. Surfaces to which the material will be applied must be thoroughly cleaned and free from dust, grease or any other contamination that could affect the adhesion of the material.
Freshly painted surfaces must be dry
Manufacturer’s guidelines state that any freshly painted or lacquered surfaces must be allowed to dry for three weeks at least, which will let the surface to dry and completely cure.

Once applied, there are a number of things you can do to keep your chevrons looking great, and to ensure you achieve that fantastic 4-year service life. These include:
- Ensuring you clean your vehicle according to vinyl instructions.
- Don’t subject the vinyl to extremes of temperature.
- If you use a pressure washer when cleaning your vehicle, make sure you do this correctly.
- Frequently hand-wash your vehicle to remove any dirt from the chevron.
- Avoid using any chemicals that may damage the vinyl.
After four years, you may start to see peeling or chevrons starting to come away from your vehicle. The fluorescence of the material may also dull down to a flat yellow – this is due to everyday exposure to the elements and is a natural weathering of the product. To stay fully visible on the roads, we would recommend ordering a new chevron kit and carefully removing your current vinyl.
